This show is dedicated to the memory of our club president, Ralph F. Lehman, Jr.
Ralph was born on January 11, 1937 in Augusta, Georgia, to Ralph F. Lehman Sr. and Sarah Herndon Lehman. He was the second of four children: Joyce, John, and Marvin. The family moved from the South to settle in Michigan near his father's family. When Ralph was a young boy he was affectionately called "Buddy".
Ralph graduated from Blissfield High School where he was an excellent student and athlete. He attended Albion College for one year prior to joining the United States Army. Following two years of service, stationed in Germany, he attended the University of Michigan earning a BS in Biology and an MS in Chemistry. He married a second time, to his wife of forty six years, Terry.
He began his career working in data processing with Chrysler Corporation in Detroit while attending law school in the evening. He received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit School of Law. He continued his career in information systems working for Ford Motor Company, United Technologies, and Trinova Corporation in Toledo, Ohio, where he retired at the age of 55 as Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
He and Terry moved to Scottsdale in 1992 and have lived in Arizona since that time. Ralph's interests included University of Michigan football, walking his dog, Ch. Estrella Magical Mystery Tour CGC TDI, serving his church and his family. Ralph loved his dogs and has had many wonderful Irish setters through the years. He is pictured here with Terry and Ringo after Ralph took Ringo around the ring for the 2008 National Specialty Show Parade of Champions.
He is survived by his loving wife, Terry, his sister Joyce Rohrback, daughters: Elizabeth, Kathleen, and Kim, and grandchildren: Alyson, Brooke, Christian, Catherine, Abigail, and Sophie.
The members of the Irish Setter Club of Arizona, Inc. miss their friend and dedicate this show to his memory.
